When Eagles fly
A cold Decembrrr morning would find me in the Western NY Hills of Monticello. My partner and I surveying a hillside for a construction crew. Taken by a movement across the big blue sky. A brisk south easterly wind filled the sprawling wing span of a bald eagle moving it directly into our sight path. The eagle climbing higher and higher turned its circles of flight into a hypnotic trance. For a moment we just starred at this pristine natural beauty. Emmm I can still see the white tail against the dark feathers on the body steering the eagle to gain control of the winds. The white face scanning the ground. Out stretched 7 foot wings would take the eagle out of sight. My imagination followed the massive bird beyond the limits of my eye sight as I continued to work. Its moments like this, I realized, that remind me of the majesty around us everyday. This gift, this intersection of my path with this eagles path was not just coincidence. More of a confirmation. That I am on the right path in my journey. Possibly while surveying we where being surveyed that day. It seems the great outdoors always holds these moments for us. Free of charge just waiting for us to realize we can’t buy it, we can’t control it, we just need to get out into the outdoors more often. Here in the outdoors is where I belong, the more I am here the stronger I become. One day like the eagle I will stretch out my wings and fly until that day. I will visit often that day watching the eagle and the sight of its flight. Just think this was all created for us. For this I am thankful and will be all the days of my life.

A glimpse of Gods handy work
Can be seen in the laughter of children. The wisp of the wind sweeping the streets clean. The shape of a snow flake. The first cry of an infant. The view from on top the highest mountain. A wifes smile as she looks at her husband in moments of joy. The reach of a toddler to be held. The softnes of a baby bunnies furry chin. Standing at the base of a tree and gazing to the top. Watching a squirrel span a nieghborhood never touching the ground. The sooking rain that releases springs beauty. Whatching a cloud take the shape of something familiar and then dissapearing never to be seen again. Watching the ripples of a skipping stone reach out to every shoreline. Weeding a garden and realizing the world that inhabits it too. A Walking in the woods with willingness to be still and listen to its voice. Holding the hand of a child. Touching the face of the one you love. The stirring healing of a hug. The grip of a cold day fading away by the warmth of an open fire... how do you see God?

The Good Eff word
Effort-
Pronunciation:
e-fərt, -ˌfȯrt
Function:
noun
Etymology:
Middle French, from Old French esforz, esfort, from esforcier to force, from ex- + forcier to force
Date:
15th century
1 : conscious exertion of power : hard work
2 : a serious attempt : try
3 : something produced by exertion or trying
4 : effective force as distinguished from the possible resistance called into action by such a force 5 : the total work done to achieve a particular end
If you have ever gone into a store and have been asked, Can I help you find something? The common reply is, No I am just looking, Just like being asked hi how are you as the person passes by at top speed. People don't ask much of each other and they don't say much ether these days. Not much effort is used at all. I remember growing up and My Mom would exchange favors with the nieghbors. A cup of milk or sugar. Baked goods and even a good conversation wasn't to much to ask. Effort was no issue....I remember picking up the phone and hearing people talking and have to wait until the line was clear to make a call. "The old Party line" and actually waiting....I am not going to complain about todays disconnectedness. I think you have what you desire if you are faithful enough to want it with all your "effort" The GOOD eff word... :)
I believe not everyone wants to speak! We should just allow people to be themselves. RIGHT?Friendships and empires have been built on someone just living out loud by being themselves and being happy about it. The bible speaks the way people live life is a real testiment to who they are and where they are going.
Who I miss the simple days when credit was a mans word and hope went along with prayer. Dreams included being President one day. I choose to make a difference everyday I am hear, vertical and taking on Air. So the next time someone says can I help you. Put in the effort to Allow them to and watch what happens. I bet you find just what you are looking for or you have an opportunity to meet someone you don't already know. Let them show you their best effort to help! By giving your best effort let someone help. Earn the big E for effort. Effort it can change who you are. It could possibly change the world...
