Fly a Kite

Imagine the excitement of having the Kite of Kites on a day perfect to fly.
Along color full tail that will paint the sky.
The elation and excitement so hard to contain.
Not an obstruction to be found in any direction to interrupt your anticipated flight.
The Kite colorful and ready.
The wind takes it from your hands as you extend your longest reach.
You let the string feed through your fingers as it sets sail.
You watch it gain altitude and as it waves back against the wind.
It accents a napping sound of the whipping wind.
Smiles and joy fill you full.
Unspoken expectations satisfied in a moment with out hindrance.
You squint against the sun fighting to not loose your sight of glorious flight.
Then at once it directly races to ground as it comes crashing down.
You rush over and inspect it for damages and releaved you decide its fine and ready to sail.
you dust it away the marks from its fall.
Confident it will fly again you launch with your longest reach.
Pushing itself against the wind it rush into its climb with confirmation all is well.
The promise of flight breezes bye as you are interrupted by a passer by.
The stranger looks you in the eye with a calculated star.
Coldly with intent the string is cut.
Glory is bent.
In shock all you can do is stare as your kite moves away from you.
No control.
Helplessly it travels out of sight in a course of desperate flight.
You watch the wind claim your hopes and aspirations of the perfect flight.
The stranger now distant.
Left holding the string you scream to no avail.
no sound comes from your attempt to scream.
the evidence is real, the damage is done.
The kite no longer has the ability to sail.
do you mend or replace it with something new?
this is the moment that will certainly define you.
