A GOOD Pruning

I have a Japanese maple tree that I have been working on for 3 years.
Each year I selectively Pruned it. The first year it looked awful. Lop sided and awkward was its appearance as I pulled one of the sucker branches off. Yet I decided to do what I know is right. I trimmed branches that went in direction that would stress the tree as it matured. Some said your gonna kill it and others said it looks awful. Uneffected by the opinions o others I went with what I know was right based my experiences and observations.

Through the warm months it would often shoot out little branches in the area where I trimmed the sucker branches off. I would again trim them off. You see it had no idea what not to do it just knew to grow. The willing hand that would care for the tree to grow to its full potential would help it grow in such a way that its true beauty would be found in the reflection on every face lucky enough to look ts way.

I looked out the window this Summer morning four years later and it is straight and full... A small scar slowly healing and seemingly insignificant to its viewers reminds me, -the willing hand/Gardner- The trees bark has almost reclaimed the scars from pruning.
What a lesson this tree has been for me also. I guess the willingness to care is reciprocity. Th example finds me in a very similar reflection some days.

The key here is this monitoring and perfecting is only reached by the trimming and daily care that has made this tree reach its fullest beauty. Hmmm a good pruning indeed.
