We "Christians" justify everything these days. Taking sinful natures and rinsing them in sloppy Grace. Stretching out the idea of forgiveness like it was sugar sweet taffy.
As Christ was hanging there thinking of us he knew our hearts. He knew that though pain was thrusting convulsions through his flesh we would still sin. He knew we would still deny his being. That doubt and fearlessness would line every prayer we send. Why do we have such an arrogance in serving our God. We continue or calendar as tho we deserve the best while so many suffer, and say well the Lord is in control, and he will help them. Its proven until we ourselves suffer we wont reach out with the provision of Gods mercy. So it comes down to Rinsing your sin in Grace or washing them away in the blood of the lamb. The question is for you and God. He knows the answer the question is do we?
We pray for him to come, yet we should be praying and seeking for him to show us his will and his way...
When Billy Joel can say "I would rather laugh with the sinners than cry with the saints" and have it actually seem truthful, we "Christians" have missed it. Great men and women of the bible are not looked on like weak meek foolishness. So when will it be real enough for us to surrender all how deep into the end times will we wait? Maybe right after the rapture it won't be such a fairytale!
